Robert Cray Band - Cookin' in Mobile
Personnel: Robert Cray (vocals, guitar); Jim Pugh (organ, keyboards); Tony Braunagel (drums).
Living Blues (p.42) - "Cray moves effortlessly between lead and rhythm parts, his complex patterns never interrupting the flow of his sometimes cool, often fierce, always emotive vocals..."
Uncut (magazine) (p.91) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[M]aterial like 'Love209' has more a Stax soul feel, the guitar playing second fiddle to the rich baritone of Cray's voice..."

Trampled Under Foot, "Badlands"
Singer-bassist Danielle Schnebelen, singer-guitarist Nick Schnebelen and drummer Kris Schnebelen - quite the family affair. Danielle has a most powerful and soulful voice. What a kick-ass release. Wonderful contemporary blues. 2013

Samples: David Johansen & the Harry Smiths
Reviews:
Rolling Stone (8/31/00, pp.69-73) - 4 stars out of 5 - "...A perfect example of the circular logic of American-folk geography....Johansen is a believable avatar of Smith's scholarship..."
Down Beat (12/00, p.88) - 4 stars out of 5 - "...Draws out all the sadness, hope, tenderness, joy and rowdiness embedded in the likes of Sonny Boy Williamson's 'Don't Start Me Talking' and the public domain's 'Old Dog Blue'..."

Nice to hear a teenager pick up the blues torch and run with it ...
Markus King Band, "Can't Take It".
(Nice guitar solo kicks in after 3 mins. Also, the drummer does one hell of a good job throughout.)

Hey AC Blues fans, something a little different. when I watched this video earlier today I thought of y'all:
Leo "Bud" Welch
http://www.theatlantic.com/video/index/421119/leo-bud-welch/
after a little poking around I see he is among a few long time blues guys in 2016
