August Get-together.
« on: 31 Jul 2013, 05:33 pm »
It was great seeing a lot of you at the Audio Fest.  Let's keep it going.  I want to fill the void until Phil's in September.

August 17 or 24th.

My set up is pretty much the same except EMM DAC 2x replaces the EA modded Northstar 192 with Pacecar and some cable upgrades.

Rim - I can do either.  I'll update my post and narrow down my date before this weekend.

Rim,
August 24 works for me.  I can help with the setup that we talked about that day if it is good for other folks.

I may be able to do either, but it's too far out for me right now.  Pick one, and If I can make it, I probably will.  :icon_lol:

Rim : Either works for me at this point. I'll be sure to bring my Manley stuff

PS - if, not when, you find yourself stuck in afternoon rush hour traffic, drop on by. As you know, I'm always in mid-hoard, so usually something new and amusing to check out.

It's never a good thing in that regard when tubes are tied - please don't use tube dampers

Let's make it 24th.  It will give 3 weeks for folks to plan and it works better for me.

We will start in the afternoon and go from there.  I will have BBQ meats and other stuff.  You won't lack for food or drinks. 8)

I still plan to be there, assuming I'm alive and kicking.  If Rich W. needs help, I have a tweak that can be used - http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/easy-to-use-products-tennis-ball-yellow-walker-coasters/ID=prod6025967-product   :icon_twisted:

An urban town, in the middle of a large urban area, doesn't qualify as a "small town" in my book. :duh:

43000+ is a small town, what a joke...

There's only slightly over 66,000 in my entire county.  Largest town is <10,000....

Roscoe, I hear what you're saying, and probably of that 66,000 there's a couple of hundred families   I remember years back going through towns in upstate NY and you would  see populations like 492.  I wouldn't call something over 10,000 in population a small town, perhaps a small suburb?

Roscoe,

Vienna really has retained a lot of the small town flavor.  It's been here for over 100 years and the metro area just grew all around it.  One of my favorite things is when they have the annual Halloween parade and shut down main drag which also happens to be one of the major east-west arteries.  All those thousands of type-A drivers have to make way for the town kids to have their big party.  Also: good schools, extremely low crime, nice climate, and great sports leagues for the kids.  Only the third best town?  Hard to believe.
