Taking over from the Chair Guy
« on: 17 Jul 2013, 01:57 pm »
Folks,

It's with a heavy heart that I am taking over from the late Chair Guy.  God rest his libertarian soul.

OK, that's the last religious or political comment I want to see on this circle. 8)

Everything John said still goes:

Quote
Each circle tends to take on it's own 'lilt' based on the activities of participants and moderator(s) alike. I see this circle as a place where there are no 'stupid' participants, questions or experiments.  We're all on a road together - each of us with our share of foibles, expertise, and aptitudes - let's enjoy the ride in its entirety.

Let's carry on.

I think this Circle is in good hands.
I disagree with one part, though, as I do LOTS of stupid things every day.

I'm happy with this choice. I ave read a lot of your posts Woodsyi and this feels right. I still run into Chair Guy's posts and it puts a lump in my throat.

Thanks for your vote of confidence.  I too miss John.  I got word that he passed away as I was driving to a camping vacation.  I was pissed, mad, sad and grateful (for being alive) all at once.  John and I were Facebook buddies and we just chatted a few days ago.  We are the same age with me being 4 months older.  Let me tell you, I kept thinking what would happen if I died while I was on vacation.  I gave extra hugs to my wife and daughter throughout.  I am not the most touchy, feely person, but I was on this trip.  I didn't begrudge together-time at all.  I think they wanted a little more alone-time.

I really feel for his wife and daughter.  He recently changed his profile picture to a drawing of him by his little girl.

Anyway,  I will do my best to keep this circle flowing, like the Chair Guy did for years.

Woodsyi,

I think all of us are glad that you are taking over for The Chair Guy. I know I am.  The circle will be in good hands.  And thanks for the use of John's magna cart during the CAF next week.

Thanks for taking this on.  I have every confidence that it will continue to be one of the best run circles here at AC.

What?  They put who in charge?   :duh:

Just kidding Rim.  I agree with everyone here that there couldn't have been a better choice made.  I see you two as having very sympathetic spirits, so I don't imaging anything missing a beat as time moves on.  All the best.

As my mother used to say, "John, you can go to bed now, you've made enough mistakes for one day!!"    :thumb:
