I have KEF's due to the Wife Acceptance Factor.   She liked the narrow, tall footprint.

I'm okay with that because they sound good.

When I need to upgrade, I'm going with the Bryston A1 or Model T's.  It'll depend upon what my budget is.

Did you have a good turnout for your event?

Hi Steve,

Yes, considering that Magnepan are not that well known over in the UK I was really pleased with the turnout, we had a steady flow throughout the day, the main thing was that everyone was extremely impressed, many of them new to Maggies :)

Just got them last Saturday in my (almost finished) new room: Bryston 28B-SST/2 Pro + Maggie 20.7.  Have to run them in a bit more, but so far, a pretty awesome combo.

We have yet to hear from James of his impressions, since he's got them in his room many many months already.

Great looking room - what do you have in the front corners?

Thanks, James.

At the four corners of the room are LF/bass traps similar to the RPG's.  Mine are made by the contractor from the equivalent of Owen Corning 703 fiberglass and wooden frames per design of Richard Bird - Rives Audio.  The three wooden structures next to the bass traps serve as front wall diffusors.

Very nice! What's the amp in the middle powering?

Looks neat - what material did they use for the bass taps?  Do you know what the NRC ratings are?

Basically, plywood frames and the 2" semi-rigid 703 fiberglass on the two sides against the wall and 1" where it's covered with cloth.

Beautiful system and room, Klao! It's clear you've given both a great deal of thought.

Best wishes for many happy hours of listening.

Thank you, guys.

The amp in the middle is supposed to power up the Maggie center speakers of which I'm running out of money to buy them now.  :)

Thanks, Tim.  I've been adjusting the speakers bit by bit all these while.  The performance of the 20.7's, the Bryston gear, the traps, the diffusors, and the room are very much to my satisfaction.

It appears that Richard Bird and the team at Rives Audio really know what they're designing and advising.  Will have to do some sound measurement and send back the results to him later when all setup would be done.  You can follow the progress in my gallery.
