My 10 yr old Panasonic Plasma seems to have $hit the bed.     $4k back then but it really didn't get much use.  Oh well.

Anyone know of any smokin' LCD deals?  Minimum of 42" but could go slightly larger.

What's your budget and why LCD? Do you have lighting issues? If not, plasma still has the better overall PQ and in most cases is less expensive than comparable LED-LCD displays.

If you really want LCD, Walmart has a 42" 3D LG display on clearance for $398.

I'd like to keep it at or under $500.  I think a very good TV can be had for that these days.  No lighting issues.  I'm pretty open.  I did see that Walmart special.  Is that a good TV? 

Also, will my current wall mount bracket on my Panasonic Plasma be able to be used with any LCD or Plasma?

Do you have a Costco nearby? They are clearing out a 55" Panasonic plasma, the TC-P55UT50, for $599 or cheaper, depending on stock. I was traveling this weekend and saw one in a Costco in North Dakota for $500.

The 42" is $629 with free shipping and possibly no tax depending on which state you live in. There's a promotion for $100 amazon credit which would make it a pretty decent deal. I'm a big fan of Panasonic's TVs because they generally have low input lag which only matters if you play games.

The 47" older model is $599 and doesn't have any other promotions, but it has the IPS panel (better color reproduction and wider viewing angles) that they took out of the lower end model.

Just to update this thread.  I picked up a 50" LG Plasma 50PN-6500 for $590.  Hung it on the wall in 30 minutes and it's really nice compared to the old Panasonic so we're happy.

I am interested (as an all Panny guy with 3 of their Plasma's of varying quality levels and age) what you like about the new LG in comparison to the old Panny (when it worked!).

Good price! I have panny's old 58" plasma I really like it but its getting close to being replaced.
