Will the SR5 work with my 2012 MacBook Pro? I recently sent an inquiry to Paul and he recommended the SR7. I will probably swap out the MBP for a 2009 Mac Mini so if the SR5 would work in the interim it would be a no-brainer for me.

I would look at the voltage and current specs written on the AC adapter for it.  The SR5 is 5 amps max continuous.  It can come in different voltages.

Should work, the adapter says 16.5-18.5 VDC at 4.5 A max
