A vote here for Decware.

I had one of the early incarnations of the Decware Zen amp, without a doubt it is by far one of the most musical amps I have ever heard regardless price.

Can't forget Pete @ Triode Wire Labs...

http://triodewirelabs.com/

He's almost a "one man show" (his wife and daughters help with braiding the wire) but definitely boutique.  Considering the reviews his products have gotten in such a short time, he may not be so far under the radar any more!

Galibier Design. One of the better turntables on the market IMHO and a one man show. Nice thread, and a good idea to give these guys a little pub.

My heart is with Alclair; a manufacturer of custom in-ear monitors (www.alclair.com).

I almost forgot to add another Minnesota company by the names of Atma-Sphere  :thumb:

John Hillig of Musical Concepts/Musical Design. John not only has his own line of top quality gear out (Musical Design), but he can mod anything from a vacuum cleaner to a Wilson Audio speaker and make it sound better. John has an uncanny ear for knowing the sounds of different resistors or different caps and finding the best combination for the most neutral, quietest sound. That attention to detail and patience would drive me crazy but John thrives on it. A perfect example, I asked him what caps he would recommend in my Magnepan crossovers (I was curretnly using Jensens, Blackgates and Sonicaps.) He had recently fallen in love with a particular line of NOS Russian mylar caps and set me up with matched sets. Not only were they significantly cheaper than what I had been using but they sounded fantastic by comparison.  Lot's of us who know him have stories like this. The man's a genius.
