My brother does this for a living and posted this link on facebook.

I guess that I just don't have a deep enough understanding of it.  Is there a question of the definition of a coulomb, or is the problem with the definition of a second?  Since an ampere is a rate of flow of charge, I don't see how there can be a problem with the definition.???

Current science dont understand electricity and prime energy and so on ampere, but any effort is welcome.

The problem is at the incredibly precise levels of measurement that he deals with, his field is metrology, the value is subject to drift and instability at the quantum level.  The proposal would eliminate the the entire derivation from coulomb per second and replace it with a constant based on electron charge, like resistance is measured.  This precision will be needed when designing things like quantum computers.  At least this is how I understand it.  However I would like to hear from those like you, unlike myself, who actually know what they're talking about.   :)

Well first of all, let's be clear that I also don't really know what I'm talking about.  :thumb:

But it's also clear from watching a lot of the science documentaries on TV, no one else really knows how things work especially at the quantum level. Einstein's stuff is called theories for a reason, they are just the best explanation so far. Until someone comes up with a better idea, they'll do.

I don't understand why things have to be so complicated. When I was a kid in school in the 50's, we were told that the very small structure of matter was like the solar system. But now it's string theory (there's that word again), brane theory or whatever.

I also think we're never going to completely understand all this tiny stuff. What's remarkable to me is even though we don't understand the structure of matter, we're smart enough to make use of what we do understand and develop the really cool technology that's everywhere today.

Recently science discover the Universe is growing in size and the growth is accelerating, maybe with energy happen the same thing.
God may have changed the energy behavior or the laws of physics.
