Taking a look at the current Bright Star Audio website i do not see any mention of these sand filled "boxes" still in production.
My paperwork is packed away and i can't tell you exactly if one is a Big Rock 2,3 or 4 or even 5.Not even sure how many Big Rocks were in production. These are used and in good shape.Black in color and most have the Bright Star badge on the front.I bought these from someone local to me and i bought his "rack of silence" or was it the "Rack of Gibraltar" anyway, the big rack and we worked a deal for these boxes as well. These were fantastic at isolating most vibrations(Godzilla never walked through the neighborhood) but i had a hardwood floor in an older home and these were great for tube amps, cdplayers, power supplies and i was vibration free,to say the least. I am moving out and my new room will have a concrete floor in a quiet area so i have decided to keep the rack and move these along to someone....HOPEFULLY IN THE L.A. AREA...I would reluctantly ship...UPS in a large box....and i won't ship just one, they are about 15-20 lbs each.OF COURSE...You go and buy bags of playground sand and fill the box,get yourself a level and fine tune to your heart's content.
There are 6 boxes....You get the box three sided enclosure, the top and the four strips that seal the top.I recall some elaborate instructions and a supplied cardboard piece to sift the sand, but i imagine this was just to justify the integrity of the product, which it does not need because these things work and you don't have to be a brainiac to fill them and level them
Sizes as follow....
The big boy....kept my 100 lb VAC on this one 22 1/2 W 24 D 4 1/2 H we are talking inches here of course................ 75.00
This one might be the Big Rock 4?
Big Rock 3 ? 21 W 19 D 3 1/2 high............. 50.00
I have 4 of the following...these fit nicely into most larger racks 19 W 17 D 2 1/2 H 40.00
I WOULD LOVE TO SELL THESE TO SOMEONE LOCAL TO ME IN THE GREATER lOS ANGELES AREA.
I will pack and ship the entire six to Botswana if you want to pay the postage and a small boxing fee. Considering the cost of a decent amp stand and the effectiveness of these units this sounds like a fair price.
If you live buy the beach you can get your own sand for free.
