Firestorm spark plugs by Robert Krupa

Sounds fantastic, more horsepower, 44% increase in mpg, decrease in emissions.  When can I buy?  What is the status?

Sounds like the internal combustion version of snake oil ...

I would be more likely to believe .44% increase in gas mileage.

If you understand how an internal combustion engine works you will know that this isn't possible.

Magic spark plugs have been bilking gullible people for the 60 years I've been on the planet and probably before that.  A bad, damaged, or worn out plug can hurt performance and gas mileage, but magic plugs won't make anything better, and usually make things worse.

You can buy actual high quality plugs from Desno, NKG, Bosch and AC Delco.  They use Iridium or Platinum to handle high heat environments in souped up engines, not likely to do much for your daily driver, but you will have the best.  A better upgrade would be to replace your wires with race wires from Magnecor (my personal fav) Mallory, Jacobs, Accel (my least fav), MSD, etc.  The lower resistance offered by these wires might actually boost your performance by a couple hundredths of a percent.

If my extra large SUV had the capability to roll off the assembly line achieving 44% higher fuel economy that it did simply by installing a different type of spark plug, I'm sure it would have.

I call bullshit.

Where can I get my whole car cryo'd?  The whole thing, tires fluids and all dipped in a tank of liquid nitrogen.

These plugs have been around for a long time.  If try worked, every car manufacturer would use them, as Bob stated.  Snake oil or in this case snake motor oil!

Unlike audio, where people claim to hear differences with no objective or measurable proof, mileage and performance are easily measured.  A fool and his money soon part...

It would be better if you ask your friendly neighborhood auto parts supplier in person.
Tell him you also need the special diesel spark plug wrench too.

You're welcome John.  :thumb:

Well...I guess I should go back to work now.
I need to tell a customer that it's time they change the winter air to summer air in their tires, and top off their blinker fluid.

Nice.  Love inside silly jokes like that.

When I was a kid working in the bars, we used to razz noobs on staff to help us find "the bottle stretcher" or the "bucket of steam"...

Yeah, or a keg tapper or similar. Here, where we have about 30 bars in a six block area, they send the new guy to look for the keg tapper that they lent to so-and-so. He goes to the bar, where everyone is in on the joke, they say "sorry, we lent it to [some other bar]", pour him a shot for his troubles and send him on to the next bar, and so on. By the time the guy gets back an hour or so later, he's hammered.

Bob - would I be better off with a left handed diesel plug wrench for my Powerstroke, or right handed ? Or do I need one for each bank ?

Well, the general rule is "Righty tighty, lefty loosey", so the ones on the right side of the engine you'll need a right handed wrench, and a left for the left.
Although, I've heard about stubborn spark plugs in Ford V8's, so you might need a metric left handed hammer to get the plugs out.

Really?
I hate to judge without knowing the whole story, but claims like that have been rampant in the industry since before I was born. If you combined all the claims of more power, less emissions, better economy simply by installing "this revolutionary widget I've designed" at the same time, then we'd all have 800 horsepower vehicles getting 100 miles per gallon with pure oxygen emanating from the tailpipes.

I'm still calling bullshit.
