I think it went something like this:

When fishermen brought in their nets full of fish, and found a few lobsters in there, they looked at them as crap, so they were sent to the prisons to be fed to the inmates. I'm sure when the inmates started making "mmmmm" sounds, their keepers started wondering about it.

Insect is not food for people, only for birds and other animals.

Insects are a delicacy to many. Lobsters are no different than earthly crustaceans except that they live underwater. I also greatly enjoy crawdads, you know, the freshwater lobster. Some say that large grubs, when cooked, are tasty, though I've never tried them. I can imagine that large scorpions would be quite tasty cooked on an open fire.

Iam referring to grasshoppers, flies, beetles, larvae etc, not lobster or shrimp.

Here are two thoughts:

I've seen several articles about the "cicadagedden" that will soon rise from the depths to mate and annoy. If it wasn't for my location being an unlikely breeding ground for these critters, I'd give 'em a try. They're basically land shrimp, but nuttier from what I've read.

Secondly, I suspect that bugs--whether you like them or not--will need to be considered as a potential food stuff even for us middle class Americans one day in the future. To say that the current meat industry in the US is on an unsustainable trajectory is a vast understatement. For example, I saw an article the other day that stated 90% of turkey meat had a nasty bacteria in it.

They're not insects but a 20 pound bag full of live crawfish showed up today and that is certainly a sight to behold.
I've never eaten a crawfish but my Dumeril's monitors go absolutely berserk over them; they will launch themselves out of their cages to grab one off of a pair of forceps.
I would not want to be reincarnated as a crawfish, that would really suck. Especially if there are monitor lizards in the vicinity.
