Ever any thought on a no holds barred integrated?  Maybe a Fet Valve with phono, remote and dac ...   May make the WAF a little easier to take.  Chassis size would not be an issue unless it was huge.

Correct, they do have an integrated, but not based on the Fet valve amp and no built in DAC.

The solid state integrated with a built-in DAC stage is a great problem-solver. I think solid-state is preferable to tubes in this configuration because it's a better ergonomic fit--since you're going for convenience, maximize that.

If the tube option sounded waaay better then that would be a tough way to go, but I'm sure AVA is taking care of that divergence.

We can build a Vision DAC and Insight+ SL or EC preamplifier combination with excellent results but not a combination of a Vision DAC and Synergy Integrated amplifier.

The Synergy Integrated amplifier with three large PC cards and three internal heat sinks plus a fourth raw power supply circuit board and a huge toroid power transformer just does not have any real estate left over for our DAC circuits.

Note that the Vision DAC/Preamp and the Synergy Compact 240 power amplifier will stack (amp on top) and the pair match and take up the same space as one of our large chassis amplifiers, 7" high x 17" wide.  A really nice pair.  Buy both at the same time and save 10% and free shipping.
