One week from today. I am not a Jazz/Classical collector.

I last posted this topic in 2004! It's archived...

Can I get an update on which stores to visit please? What, no Venus? no Second Coming? no Tower? Boy, am I out of date!

Thanks,

Paul

Titus Oaks - was that the place with all the cassettes, unorganized?  I was a teenager back then.

orthobiz - I haven't lived in Queens or Manhattan for too long.  I'm sure I read about many of the independent places in the Village closing down.  Tower Records near NYU had a huge vinyl collection, but they closed years ago too.

I never bought pre-recorded cassettes.....I made my own (Maxell CRO2 tapes, usually)

Their vinyl racks were full and resplendent....don't know if they had multiple locations, but the one I frequented was on Old Country Road in Westbury (in an old Wetson's location)

I would recommend checking out In Living Stereo located at 2 Great Jones St in Manhattan.

Paul,
You should visit Infinity Records in Massapequa Park... http://www.infinityrecords.net

Good selection & prices... a lot of rock-n-roll... big selection, great prices...

If you go, c'mon over for a listen... about a mile away from there...

Pete

PS - Bought a lot at Titus Oaks (old Wetson's Hamburgers) ... it's a Dunkin' Donuts now...

Not many record stores remain. Infinity is about the most stocked these days. If ya make it come on over for a listen.
