Dual GR ob subwoofers in video by Audiobuzz
« on: 12 Apr 2013, 01:58 am »
I am considering an ob subwoofer using a pair of gr drivers, as you might notice from my other posts and I found this video showcasing a pair of subwoofers using the GR drivers and Rythmik amp. It is as simple as it can get, back to back, placed on floor vertically -I guess they must have spacers between floor and driver frame- I put on my headphones to listen and it was impressive.
So, my questions are, has anyone seen and heard this, and is this implementation technically right?  I realize that the driver pointing downward has a different load to Th one on top point up.... And that this might not be optimal, but I like the idea.
Thanks guys!

Pretty stunning sound out of that setup, especially for an ambient recording in a YouTube video.

Wow.

That reminds me of the way I hook them up on the floor to burn them in a little bit before enclosures arrive.

At least if he runs them out of phase it will cancel the moving force and not shake the floor.

Lots of flapping and almost no output like that.

Is that vivaldi passage a segment of Winter?  Otherwise, would some knowledgable person let me know?
Thanks.

It's listed on the video, below the player to the right opposite the video info.

What I meant was there will be a lot of movement, but no output.
