I wil be returning the standard connectors i purchased because i ordered nicer connectors from Parts Conn. Got a Cardas XLR, WBT posts and a Furutech IEC.
Ummh... Why? Do they really look that much better?
The people I'm making cases, asked for them. The extra cost was added to the case total.
I'm not saying one way or another if they sound better, but the Cardas, Furutech and WBT parts generally have higher copper content in the brass as well as higher quality gold plating compared to typical Chinese budget hardware. As Rclark pointed out, the hardware choice is more in line with an exotic custom HQ CNC machined enclosure, and should the owners want to sell them in the future, will only help make a quick sale at the highest possible price.Steve
Man I wish I would've gotten in on this buy. Let me know next time you are making something, I really like your case designs and I am going to be possibly looking at an Ncore build soon.
A video of my machine making some feet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cop8jvfyxLw
Awesome! You don't mention the name of your "machine". Please reassure me it's not "skynet".
I'm surprised you didn't go for spikes of some sort (for feet). Those would be hard to make?
They would take longer and i've never liked the look of spikes. I made these for my first table (TT~1) and eventually make fixed round feet for it. Matt
I am somewhat unfamiliar with delrin for feet, is this something that is commonly used? i always figured that delrin was a hardish plastic of sorts.
Not that it's necessarily that important here, but the purpose of the feet is to minimize or dampen vibrations.. You don't have something rubber or the like to attach to those? That's what I thought you were doing.
