Johnny Cash  Ring of Fire?
Ring of fire is about June Carter falling madly in love with Johnny Cash. Ironically she sang back up vocals on that one.

Not to nitpick,(well maybe just a little ) but the subject is songs about hell. Most of the ones mentioned so far only have the word hell in them.

Soul Coughing "Bus to Beelzebub" - Not sure it is about hell itself, but is certainly evokes a cartoony hellish circus in my mind.

Oh, stop it. Go placate that bird of yours. I sense that it pines for your attention.

Also, I nominate Hell by The Squirrel Nut Zippers.

Which sounds like a really good idea to start off a night of music with.
A disc not to be overlooked may I opine.

I can't think of a song that evokes Hell better than the first on this album. The cover does a pretty good job, too.

While not an AC/DC fan anymore, the bell on "Hells Bells" was awesomely recorded. Loved to listen to that bell through electrostatics.

It's interesting how many song writers would paint Hell as a place of fire controlled by the devil deep within the earth. So I offer this for some clarification.

"Rev. 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Really, Hell simply is the grave, and in this context Hell is destroyed by fire.

Bill Bruford - Hells Bells
Bill Brufiord - Beelzebub
Vangelis - Heaven and Hell (parts I and II)
Zappa - jazz from Hell
Opeth - Eternal Soul Torture
Diablo Swing Orchestra - no particular song, just their entire 'vibe'.
Deadsoul Tibe - A Lullaby for the Devil
György Ligeti - The Devil's Staircase
Genesis - Supers Ready (beginning with the "Apocalypse in 9/8 " section.

EDIT: I guess Supers Ready is not really about hell, but more about the 'Revelations' eschatology myth.
