Tom,

I used some simple cheap 18g wire from Rat Shack and picked up a DC plug to match the one on my Dual Core.
Looks like a pair of banana jacks would be needed for the HY3005D.

Sheesh, and you can also buy this by Dr. Meter at newegg.com for $115.99 and free shipping. I read in an Amazon review that this supply went by three different names. It looks like I found all three.

These bananas were on Amazon with alligator clips for $5.18. I could always cut the clips off and rewire with a DC plug.

In the first tour thread, I said that a good linear ps would equal or better a battery a few times.

I got a used Power One on ebay for about $30 for my Trends T-amp, it comes in a kind of half-enclosure meant to be mounted in another chassis. It was just as good as an Optima yellow top battery with a good sized capacitor bank of both electrolytics and film caps. After that, I have not given much consideration to using batteries. Now even switching supplies are getting to the point where they can be great performers.

Hi....i have also finally tried my King Rex PSU over the weekend and heard a noticable difference over the standard power supply. i have been running 2 of them in mono with the standard and prefer the one connected to the KingRex. i am using the second one now as a headphone amp after ordering the headphone adapter from TBI. Dont know how much use i am going to get out of that though as i enjoy listening through speakers much more. i wish i could hook both up throught the King Rex but i dont think thats possible. the dual linear power supply would be the only other option but i cant figure out how to connect the power supply to the amps. What wires and connections do i need ? if its too complictaed for me will just keep the one amp into the KingRex.

I just crimped the 18g to the wire extensions, but I like the screw terminals.

Its about 3 yrs old. Model just says PSU. So i think its the original.

if i am following this correctly ...the power supply has red green and black outputs. are these fiitted with bananas and then a single DC plug into the Millenium ? I dont know for sure if i am going to try but just in case i would like to know how this all connects. Right now i am enjoying the King Rex improvements. The power supply would enable me to go back to using both amps againif i get the dual power supply.

Yep you got it

Not sure if you need to use the Green (ground) output, a look into the owners manual would answer that.

For about 200 dollars you can get a one of these power supply that has three outputs, two are variable and one is fixed. That one weighs 25 pounds.

I am back to using 2 Millenias with my Dodd tbe buffer and the original power supplies. Using 1 as a headdphone amp was a failed experiment. I received the adapter from Jan but didnt realize i needed to modify the heaphone connections to fit speaker inputs also. The Kingrex power supply sounded much better but only powered 1 amp unfortunately. The Mytech dual power supply sounds interesting but dont know how that one performs and its reliability.

More open and a fuller sound. It also drives my 84db Zellatons harder than the 12v battery does.
