15 ohm to 8 ohm

(http://www.classicspeakerpages.net/IP.Board/index.php?showtopic=3946).........Hi Lab Rats, there was a real nice Dynaco A-50 pair of speakers in E-bay. It's woofers are the same size as the Dynaco A-25's. The Dyna-A-50's woofers are rated at 15 or 16 ohms, while the A-25's are 8 ohms. You can find many A-25 replacement woofers, and even Seas makes a newer replacement. But try finding a A-50 15 ohm woofer replacement, Fat Chance! Well I included a diagram of the A-50's crossover if you look closely. My question is, what do you have to do to make a 8 ohm woofer, and maybe 2 of them act like or become a 15 ohm woofer for a replacement if the original fails?....Thanks labsters.....Mark Korda.

Mark, if I remember correctly this particular speaker uses Alnico woofers (and tweeters) unlike the A-25. Mixing the two different speaker types in the same cabinet wouldn't probably be a good idea if you want to maintain the original sound qualities of the A-50s.
