Yes it's on Davey's site now. It's the MG-29E aka Goldring Elektra and is available for $18 from ebay as well as an improved stylus from LPGear. The Red Ed is no longer a bargain at $38 and as far as I have seen they are selling the same cart as the $18 vendors, packaging and all.

THANKS!!
Good information there.  Lots of people get elitist and it's understandable, but you don't need a Rolls Royce to get from point A to point B.  I'd rather drive a Z-28, Charger, or Mustang anyway.

Getting back to carts, I like my AT-95 just fine. It sounds like music.  Davey's site is great way to get an idea of what to expect.  It's info like the above, that helps a lot of people buy more records, and enjoy them.

Well the AT has a definite house sound and if you like it then it will always work for you in your system, same as grado, if you like the grado sound and it works for you in your system , an AT cartridge should be far way from your TT as possible .... :green:

I do  find Ortofon and Grado to have similar sonics, full, balanced and with  the Ortofon Black, better high frequency details,Denon is between the two ( Ortofon and AT) Closer to the power and size of Grado/Ortofon and similar wire detail to AT ....

AT cartridges won't work in any of my current systems and I'm sure the same for anyone using panel type speakers ...

Err , Just saying ...

Hi A.Wayne,

This thread isn't about that, and your comments are out of place, IMO.  I don't think anyone bases a final evaluation on the samples provided by the link.  They're designed to give people an indication of gross differences in order to make a more informed choice.
Of course you're opinion is valid for you based on your experience,  but I don't agree.

I think any member can start a thread if you want to get into that discussion.  There's even a circle for reviews.
Regards,

Sorry about that ,  my response was not necessarily about  the samples , but from my experiences in general , thinking out loud , maybe a bit too much ...
