Has anyone every heard of Selah Audio speakers?

They look like they use the same FST's as VMPS and a similar midrange design (as older VMPS designs).

Selah Audio/Rick Craig are very well known in DIY circles and is highly respected as a speaker designer. Rick has done a number of custom designs for me and I currently own one of his newest line arrays from his new "Next Level" series, the Omegarrays.

It's probably not appropriate to discuss his products in Brian's forum when Rick has his own.

Rick uses different woofers, mids and tweeters from those found in VMPS units.  Otherwise ther're the same except for crossovers, layout, frequency response, sound and looks.

Rick and I have much in common worth mentioning:

I like walks through the park (in police custody), telemarketers and anacondas (together again!), X-raves, spelunking, vintage Bentley lorries, and Danny Richie.

Rick has been known to enjoy the outdoors (after escape attempts),
changing his cellphone ring for fun and profit, recombinant DNA and (of course) Danny Richie.

If this doesn't satisfy your idle curiosity, folks, more details are available.

If you can build a kit, the kit for the Omegarray is only $4,100.  That's not bad.  I also like the design.  I like the "many small drivers" concept.  It'd be interesting to do a direct comparison of the RM-40s with the Omegarray using the same gear/wires/interconnects/room.

This is Tyson's review:

Quote from: Tyson
I'd say that the only area the Excelarray's didn't at least equal the 40's is in low bass response and in midrange smoothness.  On the other hand the Excelarray's had better imaging and a more precise, detailed sound.  Too bad there's no Omegarray's around here, I'd love to hear a pair.  Both speakers did equally well on everything from large orchestral music to small scale jazz to rock & pop music.  Basically both speakers are so far beyond what you are going to hear from a traditional tweeter over midrange over woofer speaker setup, that it is not even funny.  Neither one is going to be a bad choice.  If the Omegarray is better than the excelarray, then there's a good chance that it is probably better than the RM40's, perhaps on the level of the RM/X.

:duel:

I just want to know how tall those Excelarray's are and how much they weigh!
