Changes in F1 regulation for the next years:
2013 - Technical Regulation
- Introduction of stricter tests on deformation of the front airfoils(due RBR rubber nose).
- Small changes in the structure of the scroll bar front.
- Raising the minimum weight of the car to compensate for increased weight of tires.
- Elimination of the subsidy "force majeure" when a car on the track after qualifying, (elimination of the subsidy "for reasons of force majeure" to avoid controversy when cars stop on the track after qualifying sessions.
That was one of the ways used by the teams to try to avoid punishment when they knew that the car would not have your pilot a minimum of 1 liter tank needed to provide the mandatory FIA sample as if returned to the pits. In 2012, incidents of the kind yielded the declassification of Vettel and Hamilton, respectively, from the pactice/qualifications of GPs in Abu Dhabi and Spain, leting both in end of the starting grid, despite claims of RBR and McLaren).
From 2013, regardless of the reason for stopping the track, the FIA will calculate how much fuel the car would use to return to the pits and add the amount to a minimum of 1 liter!!

- All chassis will undergo tests with the application of maximum load (just before one was tested with the highest weight and others, with 20% load minor).

2013 - Sporting Regulations
- For reasons of safety, the use of DRS for qualifying will be allowed only at the site that will be used in racing
- Within weeks of GPs, the curfew on the night of Thursday to spend six to eight hours. Will be allowed only two breaks during the year instead of four.

2014 - Technical Regulation
- Requirement that the cars are powered with electricity in the pit lane was postponed to 2017.
- Series engine regulation changes were made in order to limit the technology in order to reduce costs.
- Changes in chassis designed to reduce downforce and drag were discarded, returning to the specifications of 2012.
- Raising the minimum weight of the car to compensate for increased weight of engines.

Comes to mind a ACME Roadrunner cartoon device.
It is amazing how these F1 engines and transmissions are fully electronic.

I keep doing searches for any signs of F1 being covered (DirecTV), but no luck so far.  :(

I was looking at the programming for NBC Sports channel, and they show the same program over and over. It would be nice if they could pick up some of the BBC or SKY coverage from the test sessions, but no....

Oh the sage continues with TV Coverage once again....

Thanks for the great links for the teams.  I like the Lotus Steering Wheel.

Too bad it's going to be a long, long season with my man Hamilton mired in mediocrity with the Mercedes Team.  :duh:

Up until last year, Speed covered F1. Starting this year, NBC/NBC Sports will be covering it.

Yes. Speed Channel for the last few years. I've grown accustomed to it, and think it's OK. No way of comparing it to anything else though.

It switched to NBC Sports Channel this year. They hired two out of the three regular announcers from speed (not sure about the pit lane guy - Will Buxton?), but no way of knowing what they'll do.

We would also get Fox doing about 4-5 races each year, and they treat F1 like garbage - no pre race or post race (switch back to Speed Channel for that), and a few times they compared it to NASCAR. They definitely gave the impression that F1 was an inferior product.

Worried that coverage will get worse. Hoping it will get expanded.

With all the garbage and infomercials that NBC Sports carries right now, they definitely have the opportunity to expand the coverage, but doubt they have the "testicular fortitude" to do so.

When can we get global once again...

The old Speedvision was a Race Junkies wet...Everything from WRC, SCCA, TransAm, NHRA, IHRA,  Offshore Powerboat racing. I even remember seeing the early Red Bull Air Race, Vintage Races from across the country and one of my favorite was the crazy, inland powerboat racing with timetrial eliminations.

What fun it used to be to actually watch some racing. I loved the old F1 coverage.  I would never leave the house on a Sat on Sun morning without setting up the ole' VCR to record qualifying and the races.

I sorry for the F1 fans in US. If you guys had not told me I would not believe. :o
Another pity is the Cam-Am series also dont exist anymore, which led me to watch old races in YT, to see those beautiful cars running.

Below the F1 2013 Calendar and circuits:

Please Note: Germany and Europe GPs had no racetracks confirmed yet at the time this news release.

The front wing on the Lotus is wild looking. I can see some of those little pieces flying off in the first corner.
