I have two Van Alstine preamps and both were dyna kits. The first is a PAT 4 and has a metalized tape label on the front indicating it to be a FET Three, but nothing indicating is a AVA product. The second is a super pas 3 Three number 70999 and has the gold plated jack upgrade. Can someone tell me if these preamps can be serviced and or upgraded ?

We can service either one. 

We don't see a lot of PAT-4's but we upgraded a PAT-4 to an Insight+ for Dennis Murphy a couple years ago.  $799 including phono.  I don't know if transformers are still available for the PAT-4.

We still sell and install the Super PAS kit.  We also can add a unity gain buffer after the line board to make the Super PAS even more musical. $299 for line buffers plus $200 for phono buffers.
