Crossover 10B LR
« on: 29 Jan 2013, 01:46 am »
Hi James,

out of curiosity, I noticed that the crossover 10B can be combined for a 4 way active system (three or four units configuration).
What is the retail price for the 10B LR?
Would the frequencies have to be submitted beforehand for the Linkwitz-Riley version?

I am using two Rane active crossovers and am quite satisfied with the sound. What is the difference between the Brystons and Rane's designs?

Thank you. :)

Hi

It can only be configured for a 3-way MONO.

Yes but you would have to use 2 crossovers to get a 4-way output.

I understand James, that's what it looks like. Any comments on my other questions? Thanks.

Hi

The 10B is a fully discrete Class A circuit (no IC's) so sonically I would think you would find the sound much better.

Yes, discrete active devices always sound than IC chips. Same for preamps & power amps.

Thanks James.
Are the Linkwitz Riley frequencies fixed i.e. chosen upon client's request or can be changed through the front knob like in the normal version?

They plug in to a board so they can be soldered in or you can use a small plug in so you can change the crossover frequency if you want.
