Budget tube amp for Magnepan MMGs

What about hybrid power amps?  Does anyone have experience?

AJZepp does with Butler, I believe AVNerdguy does with AVA gear.

Frank (AVA) told me recently that he took his 400R to the Minnesota Audio Society meeting a few months ago and they ran their Maggies
until early in the morning and some people wouldn't have left because they sounded so sweet with the hybrid. But Frank had to go because it was late.
I will be keeping a lookout for a used 400R. If anyone see's one, please let me know. :thumb:

This thread just won't die!  :lol:

But, I ended up getting a VTL ST-150 for a very fair price and I couldn't say no. All tube, all the way. I need to find a Bottlehead Anonymous club here.  :thumb:

Perhaps the should be renamed the Perpetual Budget Tube Amp for MMGs Thread?
