Hey guys,

I'm running a headless Mac Mini server, using iTunes 11, and Audirvana Plus(Amarra hasn't been stable for me). I use the Remote app on an iPad to control the system. Everything was working fine until a few days ago. Basically, no matter what album I choose, after playing 1 song, it shuffles to another artist whose song happens to be in alphabetical order in my library from whatever I played. I checked to make sure shuffle and like setting are off, but I can't get it to stop. I can't just play 1 album all the way through, iTunes is constantly shuffling to the next alphabetical song title regardless of artist.

I've been using an iTunes / Amarra or Audirvana software system for years and haven't had a problem like this. Either it's an iTunes 11(never should of upgraded) screw up or I accidentally selected something without knowing it.

Any help would be appreciated.

If i right click on the album in picture mode, i have a choice of shuffle album.  You are correct in that things changed at last update somehow.  If I am in a playlist, it only shuffles the play list as suppose to.

No, but thanks for trying.

It seems my system is shuffling all songs in my library according to their alphabetical order, regardless of which artist or album I choose. For example, if I want to play a Hendrix album, it will play the first song, and then shuffle to another artist whose song comes alphabetically in my library right after whatever the title of the Hendrix song I played. So I can't play a album straight through, I'm in constant shuffle alphabetically by song mode. Weird!!!!

Click on album in the middle first and then try it....   works here...

You may want to reattach a head and see if iTunes has somehow been changed to sort by song, or some other such issue.

Okay, I think it's back to normal. I used screen sharing to control my mini, and selected sort library by genre. I believe it was as simple as that to fix. It seems like a weird bug, since I never had shuffle or random play selected. Hopefully it's back to normal for good.

I've had a similar problem with the same setup - headless mac mini, itunes 11 and Audirvana using remote on the ipad.  But for me it was a little different.  I was playing a Rickie Lee Jones album and then chose a different album on the iPad.  But it just started playing the Rickie album again.  It didn't matter what song I chose to play next on the ipad, it just went to another song on the same album.  Then I noticed that even though it was staying in the same album regardless of what I was choosing on the iPad, the cut numbers were identical.  So if I chose cut 3 from some other album, it would play cut 3 on the same Rickie Lee Jones album.
  Then I too went to screen share on my Imac and took it out of album mode and put in song mode and the problem was gone.  I think what happened was that I started playing the Rickie Lee Jones album from my Imac and when I tried to change things using Remote on the Ipad, it got stuck in that album, until I changed it from the Imac.  I think this is a bug with Audirvana and iTunes 11.
