Greetings circle.  About 7 years ago or so, I purchased the T7 EC with the anticipation of matching it with the FE 350Ex.  I had it hooked up with a Bob Carver intergrated amp driving a pair of B&W N 805 speakers.  Of course, I've never heard how well my speakers could really sound with that combo.  Fast forward to present - my T7 EC has been in storage (along with my speakers) for the past 6 years  :cry:and I've just started checking out the Ava website and circle again and see a whole new family of equipment!  My good equipment is still in storage but will be getting it out in the coming months...(storage is in Arlington, Tx - I'm in Los Angeles, Ca.).  Not wanting to upgrade the pre-amp yet (until I have 'base' sound to compare to), what do you recommend I chose from the present line of AVA amps to match with the T7?  I'm sure in time, I'll want to upgrade the T7 also....but right now I have find an apartment in this expensive city; then leave my wife....then go get my music (along with albums!) from Tx.   Thanks for any advice! :-)

Either a new Synergy power amplifier or Fet Valve amplifier will work great with your old T7EC preamplifier, and work even better when you get that preamp back to us for the Exicon upgraded ($300 line, $500 line and phono if you have both circuits).

Thanks for the reply Frank!  I'll be studying this and the AVA websites to get an idea of which of the two amps will bring me the closest to that 'tube smoothness' (I imagine the Fet Valve will).  I'll be looking for a not too expensive one bedroom apartment and don't anticipate having too big a living room so I won't need maximum power to drive those B&W N805s.
I do have both circuits and will be getting a new turntable for my vinyl....can't wait!  Thanks again.....   :D
