The local cineplex is doing a really annoying promotion for Halloween- they're doing "Rifftrax" for the original
Night of the Living Dead. Basically it's an insipid, obvious and sophmoric version of what we did in middle school, basically providing a running wise ass commentary over the film as it runs. To me that style of "comedy" makes the pun look like high art. Obviously the film is dated by modern standards but it's a landmark film, not deserving of that kind of adolescent treatment.
I do encourage checking the original out! Not sure if the type of society the film indicts is American or a condition universal to modern civilization...I'm anxious to hear what you think, JohnR, once you've seen it.
