We've been live nine days now. Thanks for being our first troll on the forums!
[BTW, for those who feel uncomfortable around this kind of behavior you will be happy to know that these kinds of posts gets people's posting privileges immediately revoked on the Ultimist island]
I am the one doing the show report for Ultimist. I spent 11 years of posting show reports on Audio Federation describing exactly how things sound - no holds barred. But the most fun part of show reports, for me, has been trying to communicate how cool all this stuff is and trying to get this stuff to appeal to, and into the hands of, the general public.
So on Ultimist, and specifically on the show reports, we are going for more for general industry advocacy - as opposed to the tit-for-tat, audiophile attribute rich, who won the room v. room wars at a show.
That said, there are several thousand photos still to post and there will be more commentary eventually - it just won't be about the sound.
Show reports on Ultimist are interactive and specifically designed to display photos and videos and people's comments, display which are the most popular (liked) rooms, and to hopefully stimulate gear lust in anyone with a heartbeat.
There are many other little features for people into high-end audio. For example, a single click allows members to add a photo or video they see in a show report to any one of their personal galleries on Ultimist - collecting their favorites to enjoy again later.
We encourage everyone, audiophiles, manufacturers, dealers, and the press to comment on rooms that they liked and ignore the ones that they did not. This will still give people an idea about how rooms sounded and which were the ones people generally preferred, but in a friendly enjoyable troll-free context.
Enjoy!
