I don't know how relevant this will be for most, as I understand Wayne is winding down his modification service, but I recently twisted his arm and got him to "Max out" my Bolder molded elpac psu. Prior to this round of mods, the elpac already had his standard mods and a By bee Music rail and cap upgrade. This time around he equipped my psu with one of his custom voltage regulators, changed the DC cable, added a very nice Oyaide R1 iec inlet and did some further tweeking that went over my head.
It is my understanding that this is the farthest he has taken an Elpac and, save a couple small differences like chasis and PCB thickness, this is basically the equivalent of one of his "deluxe" power supplies.
The sound of my digital before the further upgrades was great. I had no complaints about my transport feeding the over achieving Metrum Octave. That said, the newest round of mods brings it to a whole new level. My digital presentation seems smoother, but at the same time more resolved. There is also an apparant increase in the percevieved drive and dynamics as well as bass authority.
I don't know how much more work Wayne is willing to take on now,, but those of you with Squeezebox touches should consider acquiring one of his power supplies or taking your existing supply to the next level before he's out of the game completely.
Good job, Wayne. Sad to see your modification service ending.
