Have had and listened to the T1's for four weeks now.  They (T1's) are by far the best headphone that I have heard to date.  I'm not saying that planner phones are not good but I prefer dynamic.  BTW, the DT 990's are not far behind the T1's.  I switch between the two.  Enjoy the music.

I'm not sure you can say that they are by far the best headphones you've heard, then immediately after say the 990's aren't far behind :D

I do agree with you that the T1's are amazing.  And the best headphones I've personally heard to date as well (I'm not a planar guy either).

Milford 3:  You still entertaining that option of giving up the 990's (600 Ohm)?  I need some hard core motivation in helping me thru this year's winter in Buffalo.  These Beyer cans is the ticket.  I'll even pony up on a new amp from Napa.

Hey Fireguy:  My choice for 600 Ohm cans is still the Valhalla.  It's one beautiful SET amp at a steal of a price.

Has anyone tried the T1's with a  woo wa6 amp?
Is the woo up to it?

milford3, is the price difference between the 990's and the T1 worth it.
I see that amazon has the 990 for about $275......
The money isn't an issue, I just want some headphones that I can enjoy.

I think it would be...especially with a different rectifier and driver tubes.
But...that also depends on how loud one listens.  The T1 is not terribly hard
to drive, but is revealing of components upstream.

Thanks hibuck,
I usually do not listen with it turned up, depends on what headphones of course.
My HE-500's usually pretty low. The woo isn't the best for those but useable. Using stock tubes now.
What tubes are you happy with if I may ask?
I recently purchased a DAC so my equipment chain is improving. Signal from my pc or my Oppo..

Bob2-  The answer to your question is the step up to the T1's worth the extra coins.  I asked the same question many many posts ago.  The best reply was "The roller
coaster ride of what headphone to buy is over."  The only drawn back with the T1's is they are a bit heavier than the 770's, 880,s 990's.  My other suggestion is this:  Buy an extra set of ear pads.  You will need them because the T1's will never leave your head.  :D  :thumb: Beer me please.

WA6 is not recommended for the T1's. Its a poor match.

Try the Wa2 instead, or if you like SS amps try the Soloist. Some folks seems to like the pairing with the T1's.

Milford3 - your new Decware Amp arrive?  Don't forget this and the T1 in April.  Or you'll go back to get them.

Could not agree more!  I'm very happy with mine.
I'm using one of these for the T-1.  It's a excellent combination.

sounds like you've found a great-sounding phone that you're gonna be satisfied with for a while.  i'll be checking out the t-1's in the next week
or two (on loan for an audition from the cable company).

sounds like you got an all-round winner!  i'm still in the searching phase myself,  but it sounds like you've found yours.

"the roller coaster ride of what headphone to buy is over."  (maybe i'll be posting pretty soon in a similar vein).

way to go!  enjoy the phones!

I just put dual XLR on my T1's and have really been digging them with my DNA Stratus amp. Comfortable and great sounding phones.

The T1's are that rare headphone that scale perfectly to whatever amp you pair them with.  They sound very good even with moderate amps, and just get better and better with higher quality amps.
