Managing Iphone music w multiple computers
« on: 20 Dec 2012, 12:53 pm »
I synch my Iphone w a PC. My music files are on a Mac Mini (on an external hard drive).

I used Home Sharing to get music on my phone. It sounds like crap.

Anybody else working through this issue?

If your music files are in an iTunes library on a Mini, then you can sync from it directly to your phone, and set the level of compression you need depending on how much music you have to sync.
And if you're running a recent version of iTunes, you can sync wirelessly, which is what I do with my iPhone/Mac Mini.

Maybe this link will help you. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386

Sound quality is really a function of what you are using to play the music -- the speaker in the phone, headphones, streaming to stereo, etc. What are you using?

I don't synch my phone on the Mini. I synch with a PC (both are hardwired on my home network). I have not been able to download music "directly from the mini to my phone through home sharing). I have to download the music I want on my phone to my pc using home sharing by draging the songs over to the pc hardrive... and then I can put them on my phone.

I understand that but I'm getting poor quality across the board (Iphone, office system, back yard system) with home share.
