Another great gift idea.... This one is really good. And available while cabinet supplies last.

You get the complete X-LS Encore kit see here:

Yep, it's the one with the really good Peerless dome tweeters. They can be seen here: http://gr-research.com/gr-t3tweeter-1.aspx

With a pair of unpainted MDF cabinets for only $259 plus shipping.

Or Black painted MDF cabinets for $309 plus shipping.

See cabinet pics:

See more pics here: http://av123.wetpaint.com/page/X-LS+Encore

These were reviewed by Positive Feedback, and several others. A Skiing Ninja upgraded version also won the small speaker shoot out by Stereo Mojo: http://www.stereomojo.com/Small%20Speaker%20Shootout%202007/SmallSpeakerShootout2007Part1.htm

You'll have to call to order this special: 940-592-3400

And for another $35 I'll through in a sheet of No Rez (plus shipping). Yeah, it's marked down too.

Looks good huh?

Great gift.  I just finished a pair of  X LS Encores for my niece for  Christmas.  Pretty incredable for $149  kit, even a better deal if you get the  pre built boxes :)

Sounds like a good deal!  I'll try to call on Monday to order a pair...  I'm currently at the south pole, so sometimes that can be hard to do!

There's some proof far ya - me at the geographic pole marker outside Amundsen Scott station =]

And yes, it can be cold - when I got here, average temp was -30, wind chill to -75.

Now that's an impressive picture! So, will you be building a pair of XL-Ss there or when you get home?

I'm only here until the 18th of December, so I plan on building them when I get back home to Madison.

On the AGW topic, the average temperature here has dropped very slightly over the last 50 years, but the temperature variance year over year is much higher than it historically was.  CO2 levels have gone from 310 to 390PPM in 50 years as well.  I'm not a meteorologist, and the one I talked to about this said that nobody is exactly sure what it means, they are still working on figuring out the temp variance.
