G'day Greg, I had sort of lost touch with your project so this is interesting. Just curious whether you tried highpassing the Dipole15 to cross to the sealed sub at any point?

Um no, I did not.  I tried everything I could think of with just the Dipole 15's and when that did not work out, I decided they were overkill for the task if I was NOT using them below 50-60Hz and sold them to fund the Rythmik purchase.  I will be reporting back on my thread once the baffles are reassembled with measurements of everything.

I heard Mr. Pass' system with the slot loaded woofer at this years Burning Amp. I am planning to build my own version. The bass sounded good even in a room obviously not intended for hi-fi, and by putting the slot next to the floor and the driver behind the open baffle it is less visually intrusive.

Did you get a chance to take any size measurements for the baffle (esp woofer portions)? The slot appears to be about 2" high. The width just slightly larger than the driver (maybe 18"?). I own the Eminence driver and would like to build a woofer only version to see how it sounds.

The formula is apparently to make the slot area around 1/3 of the cone area.

Thanks
Assuming I did it right I come up with:

Surface Area of Cone (Sd) of Eminence 15" Definimax is: 872.9 cm²
Slot area = 1/3 cone area is: 291 cm²
Conversion to inches is: 45 & 7/64 in²
Guessumed slot width is 16"
Indicates a 2.82” or 2 & 13/16" internal slot height

Appears to jive with the pictures that have been posted.

There are two woofers though. In the Pass article, I believe the drivers used are 8".

Pass used three 8 inch drivers. The lesser depth of the slot has the benefit of moving the resonance higher to make it easier to match the mid.

I was referring to the version he had at the Burning Amp get together last month.

Oh OK. Thanks for the pics! That makes it clear, interesting design :)
