Ahh, when you say powered, I think you might mean actively biamped - as in, each driver of each speaker, gets an amp to itself. For this, a pair of the Teac's, along with the Behringer you mention, could do the trick, when paired with your front end and preamp.
I have a pair of these amps, and have played with passive biamping (1 amp channel per driver, BUT the drivers still have Xover in the signal path, unlike what you propose, with the ACTIVE Xover). I did not notice a huge improvement when passively biamping, but I was warned by many that would be the case. All of those folks warning me, were preaching what you are suggesting.
Certainly makes the speaker building simple enough, since all you need is a box and the drivers, no need to mess with Xovers...
