Hello,
This is a continuance of a thread I posted in Multichannel and Digital concerning the digital amps made by JJ Audio Zest , a company in Denmark..
http://jjaz.dk/ . Since one of the owners , Johnny Jensen , has responded to the thread, I thought to move it to the Market Square, since I have questions about his products. AC members feel free to ask any questions you may have. Thanks ! :) [/list:u]
Thank you Johnny for responding to my request concerning your digital amps. Lately, on this site there has been a lot of talk about the many digital amps that are coming out form many different manufactures. As I searched the web, your web site came up. After viewing your site, I was looking to see if any members of AudioCircle had any info on your product. This site has over 3,000 members from around the world. Your digital power amp looks very interesting..
http://jjaz.dk/pages/amps/amp_index.htm ...very modern, and high powered. But I know little about your company.[/list:u]
Could you tell me more about you amp, its spec's,how it might sound and if anyone has auditioned or reviewed your product. Thank you for a reply, and any members that have questions , please post them. Thanks !!  Chris :) [/list:u]
P.S. While your here , take a look around , lots of excellent members and info contained in the many circles !! :) [/list:u]

There's indeed quite a large bread of this amp class on the market today. I'd like to clarify that we are not dealing with a digital amp but rather a class-D amplifier (like most of the others, i.e. LC Audio, TriPath and the like).
What's important here is that the class-D amplifier converts the incoming signal into a PWM signal via analogous technique. As opposed to f.x. the TacT which has an A/D-converter as input stage.

Oh, well.. Back to our amps, sorry for the deroute  :)

All the amplifier specs are listed in the brochures on our site ("brochure" in the left menu frame), if they are not adequate I'll of course supply with more if I can.
Now that I'm at it. Here's the direct link to the brochure page:
http://www.jjaz.dk/pages/brochures/brochures_index.htm

As for the sound, it's a lot more difficult. There's plenty of hifi'sh words used for describing sound, but in my opinion it gets pretty vague very fast.
The words most often used about our ICEpower amps are: open, detailed, extreme control, black background, very good soundstage
That's some of the qualities that people notice the first.

Unfortunately I can't point you to a review as we haven't had one done yet, but we have more than a few magazines awaiting the arrival of our amps. That has been delayed quite a bit due to problems with the subsuppliers.

Can you tell us the difference between your amps and the ICEpower Rolands or the (Danish) Acoustic Reality Icepower amps?

The Jeff Rowland 201 is built with the exact same ICEpower module that we use in our IP105KW, though with quite a different price tag.
What's special about our IP105KW is the possibility to choose a wooden finish that matches your furnitures, we can supply amps in most wood sorts wheather you feel like teak, pear, brazillian rosewood or something entirely different.

JJAZ and Jeff Rowland uses the ICEpower modules with integrated switchmode powersupply, whereas Acoustic Reality amps are built on an ICEpower module that needs an external powersupply.
Acoustic Reality uses a conventional powersupply for their designs, and as far as I know all their stereoamps use only one toroid.
Thus the Acoustic Reality amps are not really dual mono, but the Jeff Rowland and JJAZ amps are pure dual mono in one enclosure.

What really sets us apart from the rest of the ICEpower amps are:
The danish enclosure design
The 100% handcrafted enclosure, all woodwork is made by the same carpenter and every weld is handwelded by the same guy.
We strive to deliver anything but a massproduced product for those who wants a different kind of furniture with a purpose.

Johnny,

Hi - welcome to AudioCircle and thanks for your input on things! It's great to have more of an international flavor here  :!:

Give us some idea on US pricing.....your website (unless I missed otherwise lists only in Danish Krone).

At today's exchange rate ($1 = 0.163239 DKR) I get:

IP205KW (2 x 500watt, stainless shell) = $2530.00
IP210KW (2 x 1000watt, stainless shell) = $3591.00
GD Top/GD1082 Speker System - $11, 427.00

Figures rounded up slightly to nearest whole dollar.

Is there anything more/additional we should know in configuring 115v amps for US?

This is Market Square - you are here to sell yourself - feel free to elaborate!!!

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome, it's nice to feel appreciated here.

Your price conversion is indeed correct, nothing is added nor subtracted to the prices.
Shipping costs for the amplifiers is app. 100$ for a 5 day delivery time.

Upon ordering it's enough to say the amps wil be used with 115V mains, we will of course configure them for that purpose.

Honestly speaking we have a hard time finding any amps that deliver better sound quality and more power output for anywhere near our prices.
Add the extraordinary design to those qualities and go figure what else to buy than massproduced amps at an even more expensive price  :D

Johnny,  I think you have hit upon one idea that no other (that I'm aware of) digital amp maker has.  That is, they run so cool that you don't need vent holes, at least on top or sides, so you can make a box out of wood to go around it.

That is a GREAT idea, and gives me an idea for my passive pre-amp

Haha.. Coool (in more than one sense :) ... Passive pre-amps should be pretty flexible for enclosure design.

It's quite an amazing line-up of equipment that we see at many of the guys here, we better get onto the US market and earn a little money here

It's different in the choice of brands. You have quite a large selection of brands that we never see in Europe. It's only natural though, considering the size of the US market.
Comparing it to Denmark it's obvious that you'll have a lot more to choose from since the total population in Denmark is only 5 million (yes, 5.000.000) people.

Denmark has (considering its size) a lot of national manufacturers of really good audio equipment, and that makes it quite difficult for foreign brands to enter the high-end market here because of the competition

Yes, quite a large selection of things to choose from here. Guess the U.S. is the largest market in the world , therefore, everyone wants to market their products here. Sometimes it can be pretty confusing what equipement one should choose with so many choices, thats why audio sites are a good tool to get some information on the many brands of equipement. And with AudioCircle , you have manufactors with circle's here that can answer most any question put to them. :)
