Emminence 15a neo10 fostex t90a project
« on: 26 Oct 2012, 07:26 pm »
I have some drivers sitting around just begging for a project. Dont need any new speakers but hard to look at these on a shelf in the closet. So I am looking for some advice and opinions. I have the 15a's and the fostex t90a's already. I am thinking of mounting the 15's in an h-frame and combing them with some neo10's and the fostex's open baffle on top. Using a dayton apa150 I have for the 15's runni g the neo10's fullrange and then bringing the fostex in somewhere in the 5-6000 range. Thoughts, opinions, advice?

Just do it :thumb: Make a baffle out of cheap material first and measure/experiment, as you don't know what your final configuration will be at this point.

I'd be concerned about running the Neo10 full range, while I don't have any I would think they would need at least a highpass filter. You might want to consider a different mid.

John is right, you cannot run the Neo10 fullrange.  You must filter below 200-300Hz and probably over 4-5KHz although you can run it higher if properly EQ'd.  Have you seen the native frequency response of the Neo10?  There's a 5dB rise beginning around 5KHz.

You will get some bass from the Alphas(not my cup of tea but they do make some bass OB).  The Neo10 is excellent if EQ'd.  So the only question is the Fostex which is VERY sensitive compared to the other drivers, so you will need to pad them way down to achieve a nice blend.  Give it a go!

What I meant to say was use the neo10 as a widerange driver not fullrange. What active crossover device would u choose
