Zaph SB12.3
« on: 23 Oct 2012, 08:56 pm »
These are a very large, very efficient, and extremely dynamic 3-way SB Acoustic speaker designed by Zaph Audio for Madisound.  Professionally built by Tyler Acoustics.  Enclosures are substantially thicker than specified and tweeter caps were upgraded to Clarity SA.  Enclosures are finished in a real wood ribbon mahogany veneer and cost was over $1500 alone.  One small scratch on the side and one screw on the subwoofer is stripped.  More info on the design here: http://www.zaphaudio.com/SB12.3/  Asking $1000.  Due to size and weight I prefer local pickup in Southern California, but these can be shipped (I have boxes) if you can arrange freight.  Amazing sounding speakers and as someone who has listened to hundreds of speakers in depth I can confidently say you will not find a more dynamic or smooth sounding speaker for the money.  Only selling because they are too large for my tiny listening space.

Did anyone else notice the astonishing similarity this tweeter has with Tekton's "proprietary ring-dome" tweeter? Other than mounting the magnet assembly from the rear, I wonder if there is a difference?
Being proprietary info., matching spec's between the two would be impossible for a simpleton like me.
