Beautiful. Sealed alignment?
Rick forgive me for going a little OT here but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. Also forgive me if this has been asked and answered before. I know you hold the RAAL tweeters in high regard. What I'm wondering is what differences in sound from the listener's perspective are there between the 70-10 and 70-20? Also I know you've had some experience with the Raven tweeters and I was wondering if you've heard the Raven Point Source. If so what differences in sound would the listener hear between the PS and the RAALs?
Hi Rick,Just salivating over your Tempesta floor standing speaker and I'm curious to know how much your charging for it?Cheers Rod
Rick,Will the Temptesta Extreme fit in this cabinet. If so what would the cost be for that configuration.JP
I wanted to thank Rick for personally delivering these topnotch speakers to me this past Saturday, the pic don't really show how well theses speakers were crafted and how they sound will be mentioned in fuller detail latter, since I'm still getting adjusted to them myself. But I will say that so far I am blown at there high degree of clarity across a wide range of music and resolving detail that ups the ante over my PMC FB1i's . . . something that PMC is known for. So far this unknown risk as payed off greatly, and I very glad to own a pair of Selah speakers!
It really depends on the application and design. What attributes are you looking for (or a particular combination)?
All I want to know is what type of binding posts they have.
Rick, Thanks for responding! I see. I was hoping in general to get an idea of the differences in sonic attributes of each as they are very expensive to get to just experiment with. I understand that proper employment and setup matters. Of course a great driver improperly employed will sound terrible and that things can be done to alter characteristics to a degree. It's just that I don't have any experience with true ribbons just planars so I was hoping to get some insight as to the particular characteristics of these drivers such as delicacy, air, resolution, detail, speed, on and off axis response, dynamics, etc. That I could get a general idea of which would give me what, so I'd have an idea of which would serve best in certain applications. So if it's delicacy I'm most interested in first look to driver A, if it's speed first look to driver B, if it's detail driver C, and so on. That way I could also get an idea of how they would mate with different drivers and match with whatever I was looking to achieve overall. No specific applications really. Just hoping to get a general idea of what to expect from each. The closest thing I could give you to any specific app would be a speaker I've only toyed with the idea of upgrading. It's a 3way modular design with polypropylene woofers in separate ported cabs (top and bottom), and the planar tweet is paired with a PP mid in a sealed cab sandwiched in between. In this situation what I'd be most interested in from a tweeter is natural tone, resolution, dynamics, accurate transients, air, and soundstage. AFA soundstage looking for a wide, deep, and holographic presentation without being shoved too forward with very good specificity. Horizontal and vertical off axis response isn't that important in this instance as critical listening would be done from a fixed sweet spot position and speaker placement, including height, would be very, very flexible. I hope this helps and that maybe you could give me some ideas/observations of these tweeters. Thanks, Michael
They really look beautiful (and quite reasonably priced for what's included). When will pictures and specs be posted on the website. Best of luck with them.
If you're looking to upgrade your current speakers then I would need to know the drivers.
