Not your usual headphone stands
« on: 11 Sep 2012, 06:17 pm »
Cell phone pics don't do them justice, but here's a couple pics
of my KEF 105.2's that do double duty as headphone stands
for my ATH-1000W's and Denon D-5000's.  Also a Lyr snap.

Wish I had something like that! Don't have the space for it, sadly.

I don't have any good place to set up a proper headphone stand, and my Sennheiser HH10 hanger rests precariously on a narrow edge so it is not very secure.

Any suggestions?

For now, I use two nails in the dry wall.  Hey, it works!

Wish I had a wall near enough to use a hanger if not nails.

Japanese Samurai.
Very special piece from my father in-law, hand carved from 2X6 with a pocket knife when he was station in Japan in the 60's.

Hey!

     Here's my...

With my main headphone Grado SR125.

With my cheapy AKG K77 that I use sometime in and out. I don't keep the AKG on it though.

In my system. I got the head from Ikea couple of years back. It is made of clay and good thing it is not too wide so it won't stress out the headphones head band or flatten the ear cups. But wish it could be a bit narrower though.

Take care,
Buddy  :thumb:

SetMan, out of all the listening rooms I've seen, I like yours the best. It's bright, tidy, cool looking rig, lots of live plants, looks inviting, not like an audio mausoleum.

Yep, I've been to Buddy's NYC's "mancave" and I too loved the sound and environment. Especially the fact that it's a 1 man listening room. Hey Buddy!  :thumb:

Cheers,

Hey!

Thanks!  :D Well, truth to be told, I used a bit of fill flash when I took that picture. But yes it is bright during the daytime, as you can see that my plants are pretty happy.... beside making the room looks nicer they are also make great sound absorber, diffuser and oh! yeah they do make a great living air purifier also

Believe it or not this is also my bedroom. I sleep on a futon that can be roll back against the back wall so I can listen to music or do other things. Anyway, I'm fortunate to have all this space here in Queens, NYC. Too bad I don't own this townhouse... I'm just renting here.  :(

Anyway, if ever come to NYC you are welcome to stop by  :D

Same here  :thumb: I have a bed in mine although I almost want toss it and do the same thing for the time being. But your picture inspired me to paint, the walls in my room are super dull, and I need more plants.

I've got a buddy of mine painting me a Jimi Hendrix right now too, time for some real art.
