For your consideration, here is a virtually mint condition Berkeley Alpha V1. I am the original owner and purchased it from an authorized dealer. It is just over 2 years old. Everything that you have seen or heard about this DAC is true. Specifically, it is the single piece of gear that has me listening more to digital than to LPs. I can offer no higher praise. Selling only to upgrade to an Alpha V2. In direct comparison, yes, the later version is slightly smoother and provides a touch more depth of field. I am not entirely convinced that it is worth the differential in cost. That’s how good the original really is.
I, unfortunately, cannot find the manufacturer’s box. The asking price reflects this. I will provide a heavy duty box and pack it extremely well.
