Anybody here seen or heard these? The headband looks like hifiman, the earcups look like Audeze, the price looks too good to be true.

Hifiman prices on the 400 series are all whacky. The 400i has been $249 for at least a few months now. I'm saying that only because this may not be limited to a father's day sale.

The he400i @ $249 - that's $50 LESS than the 400s. And if you want a refurbished 400i, it'll save you a whopping $20, that's for either the new or OLD version.

It seems the best deal is, as FullRangeMan posted, a new 400i for $249.

I've also noticed a drastic drop in the used prices of Sen hd600/650, possibly related to the price drop of the 400i.

That is good. I'm always a skeptic, however, and I'd ask to make sure they are brand new-no open box, refurbs, b-stock.

There's also some upgrade program on the he1000. As I no nothing about them, I can't really comment

Especially given that Hifiman is renowned for QC problems and design "revisions". It's not a good deal if it fails or breaks.

Tempting. I had a pair and loved their sound. Sold them as they weren't the best with my Bottlehead Crack. I'm waiting for the Bottlehead S.E.X and wondering how they'd work with that amp.

There are at least three iterations of the 400 (400, 400s, 400i, right?) and I wonder which these are? I assume the most recent, whichever that is.

The head belt type is the old original 400, which is a good sound HP.
The drivers should the companion to this model.

I saw this while surfing on my lunch hour. When you get to the 'Order' page, it turns out it's 'refurbished or B-stock' but $339 for the open back version of the Audeze EL-8 planar magnetic cans still seems like a helluva deal anyway. I've heard them and thought they sounded very good, but like most around-ear headphones (especially with leather or 'pleather' pads), they felt 'clammy'after not too long (YMMV of course). Calling FullRangeMan!
