Dan only gives you $60 credit if you send in your own T50rp's to be "Mad Dogged," though. And you have to pay to ship them over I think. That's why I sold mine and just bought MD's instead. (Wanted to play with them, didn't have the time.) Considering how simple the mods are - Fostex could literally make a Mad Dog for under $30 a pair more than the factory T50rp in parts, labor, and dealer markup, maybe $35 if you add in the suspension headband - the improvements are remarkable. I'm not minimizing the development that went into the MD, and I think Dan charges a fair price for the sound he gets out of these relatively cheap things. But in mass production the MD mods wouldn't add much cost-wise.

Good point.
They sound pretty decent (unmodded) with the proper headphone gear tho.

That would appear to be the new "regular" price for them as they are $299 everywhere I've looked (musicdirect, audio advisor, moon audio, etc.).

Not sure if they are any good, but Musician's Friend has the Audio Technica ATH-M45 for $50 today (regularly $100). Looks like white only, though.

Fathers Day sale got me , I just picked up my first full headphone ever after 10yrs of strictly IEM ( at the moment using Westone 4Rs ).
Guitar center had some Bey Dt880 pro 250 ohm for 160$ , only in the honeymoon phase (1st week) but they seem good .
I was hopping to try the Alpha dog first .

I sure don't want to discredit your post/link for Sennheiser,
but the price for the HD600 is only 2 USD more from Amazon than Sennheiser direct
and it include free delivery.
