"As far as food goes, I am planning on a stop before I show up and would be happy to pick some things up, I'm just not sure of what. I'm pretty basic on cheeses - no refined taste at all. Tillamook Extra Sharp Cheddar (NOT vintage white) makes me happy."

A slug of extra sharp and a cracker and I'm good too.  Find a brie as well.  Triple cream and very ooooozzey.  What time will you make it to Sunils?  I'm looking forward to seeing you again.

i like your schedule steve.  just make sure that we have somebody to keep the changes going in a timely fashion so that we can go over all the various combinations you have proposed.  plus with the oakies flowing do you think we would still be critical of the music or equipment or focussed on enjoying the red fluid

I land in Oakland a bit before 9. Want to drive around the old stomping grounds (Davis) for a bit. Want to make sure I hear Sunil's existing setup before anything gets changed, but don't want to be too early, so I figure right at 1.

I'll stop at a Costco for wine/cheese/crackers beforehand.

Looking forward to seeing you and any of the rest of the crowd (Michael and wife, Hugh) as well as meeting Sunil and any other GR/AV123/etc people.

Thanks - we'll see how the day unfolds. I do enjoy listening to music and helping set up/cooking!

Any interest in the OmniMic? (got buried towards the bottom of the last page)

In keeping things on schedule I propose that we go with the following schedule.

Two Channel
1) Current pre-amp with the Emotiva Monos.
2) Melody Tubed Pre-Amp with the Emotiva Monos.
3) Melody Tubed Preamp with Digital Amp Company Cherry
4) Melody Tubed Preamp with the Melody Tube Amp
5) Add Melody CD Player
6) Upgrade Interconnects and speaker wire.
7) Add Subs

Break for Food and Wine Aeration Challenge

Home Theater
1)Use the existing HT Preamp with Emotiva Amps
2)Add the Lexicon Preamp with Emotiva Amps
3)Add the Tubed Amps with the Lexicon Pre.

Imma sure that someone has more experience in these things and can offer thier insights.

The Lex LX-7 is a 7 channel amp.

I can bring an old Lex MC-12 but no HDMI.  Hi rez would have to be analog from the Oppo.

I was thinking of bringing the Joule Electra's. Perhaps the NAD M51 as well. I can even offer up the Allnic preamp.

I know there's only so much time to plug and play.

We are curios though how the Joules play with the 9's  8)

I think I've been requested to bring the Mac mini and a Kora as well from Luan's stable  :?

Cheese and wine on the way!

FYI - We will be hosting a DAC shootout in South San Jose.

We have so far:
EE mini max
Luans professional something or other
NAD M51
Metrum Octave
Oppo BDP95

and looking for Perfect Wave II loaner
Audio Note 2.1 or 3.1 or 4.1 or 5.1? Serious about this
Wyred4sound
Weiss
Berkley Farms

I'll be starting a thread in this - somewhere

Brie??!? Brie?

What's Brie????  :green:

As stated, a little extra sharp Tillamook and I'm a happy camper - what makes a good Brie?

What kind of cracker? Triscuits do for me  :o

Hopefully a nearby Costco has a good selection of wine & cheese, or I'll be doing some shopping!

Forewarned - if you bring the Mac Mini, I will probably be asking some questions. :icon_twisted:

Any idea of how far into the future for the DAC shootout?

Hell Yay bring the Joules.  and the diamonds and all the gold.

What Farms in Berkley?  They grow audio bits there?

Count me in on the shoot out.

Can't wait to see the feedback on the LS9's.
I have my opinion.  I'll keep it to myself.
