I've had the AVA Insight+ Double 240 for about 2 months now.  Love the retro look and love the sound!  (photos borrowed from another forum member, but mine looks the same.  8) )

I agree!  I think its great that Frank is able to use the Dynaco chassis like he does.  Sometimes, it's cool to see a Dynaco chassis from 20 years ago and know that the amplifier is brand new!

Ultimate 70. Looks just like the Dyna ST-70 I have had for years but sounds and performs worlds better.

Not to mention keeping the price / performance ratio for high quality sound in the range that someone like me can afford.

FET VALVE EC and 350hc, both in my home theater now.  Magnavox circa 1993, available to the AVA collector who has (almost) everything. PM me if interested.

(2) 600R in monoblock configuration
(1) Fet Valve Ultra 550+ (parents' system, but I still count it as "mine")

Before finding AVA, I suffered from "upgraditis". For me, these amps have been the cure, and they're even affordable.

Over the years, quite a bunch!  Until now, all have been in Dynaco chasses: SCA-80Q; ST-120; ST-150 (2 of them); with various upgrades along the way.  My current FetValve 400R is my first in its own box.  It is astonishing! :o

1. My first Van Alstine Amp, Omega II 240, purchaced used in 2004 - I gave it to my brother as a very generous gift. He loves it by the way.

2. U70 - still my favorite, which replaced the Omega II.

3. Insight 240 - The family system -replaced a Rotel 940BX with very noticable difference in fidelity. (Interesting side note the Rotel was loaded with blackgate caps in the signal path in stock configuration-it didn't help).

Going to pull the plug soon an the Synergy Control Amp to simplify my life. 8)

I have had my U70 for several years now and still love it. it ain't pretty but sounds wonderful. i have performed all the Frank approved mods, upgraded the power cord and binding posts and the next time I get snowed or rained in will replace the tube sockets with teflon/gold ones I just got for about 8 bucks a piece.

just changed speakers to Volent Paragon CL2s. The U70 is crossed over at 80 hz and I have plenty of juice and the ribbon tweeter sounds sweet.

love it!
