Wondering if anyone here is familiar with these drivers & their T/S specs ? My understanding is that they're Triaxial drivers with built-in crossover with fairly highish Q ( 1-1.5 ) .I'm thinking OB here ...

I have the CX version, which is just minus the tweeter and they really shine in OB. Very full and detailed sound. Not thin or nasally in OB. Having the tweeter is nice as the CX rolled off a bit early to use all by itself. Overall, the Calrads are real performers while being very efficient with some good slam, IMHO.

I have really liked the Calrad in OB. However, I have found the TX versions to be less of a winner compared to the bigger alnico speakers.

Thing is, the Calrad gear is all rebranded Japanese woofers: some Pioneer some Coral... very little consistency.

I have a had a real pain trying to get a couple pairs up and running: tweeters blowing, voice coils going... When they worked they were unbelievable.
