i had one of each of those as well. (i still own 3 sansui's - a stock tu717, a refurb'd modded tu-x1 and a mint almost nos rare fm-8 tubed mono w/mpx out.) the sansui's sound fantastic - as did the tu719. the mac was one of the most mediocre sounding tunas i have ever had in my system. almost as bad as the refurb'd mr77 i also was happy to sell! doug s.
I would agree with your assessment the Mac wasn't that impressive of a tuner and I had no problem selling it. I only recently sold the Sansui and only because I just wasn't using it anymore. I never used the tuners for critical listening and with the advent of internet radio with NO or very few commercials I've gone that direction.
Congratulations!Do those sound as good as I remember?
Here's my Sansui TU-9900 tuner. It's been sitting in the closet for the last few years, so today I decided to rotate it back into the system. It looks great, sounds great, and picks up more stations than what I'd been listening to previously. I don't know why it took me so long to do this.---Gary
I picked this up today I found it on CraigslistThis will go great with the Pioneer cassette deck SX-3800
