1) When disconnecting a hard drive from the back of the Bryston BDP-1, do I have to power off the Bryston?
2) If that drive is a powered drive do I have to power it off?
3) Should I power off the Bryston before removing thumb drives?
4) Presently I'm using iTunes to rip CDs to a MacBook Pro to AIFF files. My concern is that I keep the resolution as high as possible for best sound...can I improve upon this?
5) Is there any MAC OS software that will help me organize my music? Presently I'm creating folders and sub-folders , naming them, organizing them in genres then individual artists when there are multiple albums e.g. Jazz, POP, Easy Listening, Male/Female Vocalists, Classical (Orchestral, Keyboard, Baroque, Chamber Music, etc), Choral. This is the most time-consuming part of all. How do others organize their music? By the way, I've been using MPaD with an iPad and it seems to work great.
6) I am using two Seagate 2TB powered hard drives: one strictly for connection to the Bryston, the other for backing up my files. What is the fastest/easiest/safest way to backup? (Do the length/quality of the connecting cords affect the results in any way?)
7) Is there a limit to the size of thumb drives that can be used with the BDP-1?
THANKS in advance for any guidance, suggestions.
This is my first forage into this kind of thing, the I'm incredibly impressed by the BDP-1!
