Me too! I have only seen one for sale ever! I am sure you have seen what customers have compared these to, so I think we are in for a long wait. What about the kit? That is what I am considering.

Good luck in your quest.

Malcolm,
Here is something that I was going to list for sale, but I will present it to this thread first.

A DIYHiFi Supply Chazz2 headphone amp/preamp.  I have used it only as a headphone amp.  It came with the balanced-mode to HD600 type headphone connectors.  It did not come with 1/4" male to L and R RCA females, but I do have a Radio Shack adapter of this type that I will include.  One point in the website description is wrong: the front panel feedback toggle switch is 2 position, -3 and -6, with no 0 position.
The unit came with two unmarked 9-pin tubes for the 12AU7 positions, and one 6N5PJ dual triode (6AS7 equivalent) shared output tube.  I will include those barely used tubes plus the two Psavane 12AU7T and one NOS Philips JAN-6080WC that I had been using, and another NOS Philips JAN-6080WC and one NOS Tung-Sol FAA-6080WA both used for two hours only to confirm that they worked.
This unit was new in November of 2010, and this particular product is sold only fully assembled, not kit.  I have never had any problem with it, and it is unmodified.  I would rate it 9 for both function and for a couple of very minor finish imperfections.
Plan on up to 20 pounds total shipping weight, from ZIP 18661.  Asking $380.00, plus shipping.

If no interest through this thread in 7-10 days, I will make it a separately headed listing.

Thanks.

Steve

I will only add that I really enjoy mine....I am assuming you are referring to the 45/2A3 DHT OTL Tram2 preamp?  Took me some selecting to find good quiet tubes out of my OS stash, but when I did, it was wonderful.

for future reference may i ask which tubes you ended up with that were quiet ?

I had a bunch of OS (not necessarily NOS) ST style tubes, mostly National Union based on good reviews...I'd avoid Globes for a line stage, chances of quiet are like winning the lottery.

Hey I have seen your gallery and there is some very cool stuff there. If you built all that and don't feel confident building the Tram then I am a dead man because I am pretty sure you have forgotten more about building gear then I will ever know :)

I am a DIYer but ordered mine built....didn't want to wait basically.  I don't have much time lately.  However the service is great, its like ordered a finished component anywhere else...except you get way more for your money.  The level of this circuit and build punches WAY above its weight.

I'll add, that I was happy enough (plus I've always been a fan of Thorsten Loesch) that I ordered the LCR uber cole phono preamp too.
