Wow, a White Sox pitcher throws a perfect game on a very successful Record Store Day. Pretty ideal day. No doubt.

Congrats Humber.

Bad day for Red Sox fans.  Boston was up by the score 9 to 1.  Yankees now winning the game 15 to 9

At least it wasn't a major rival the BoSox lost to in such an embarrasing fashion. Oh wait...

Yeah, nuts huh? And there was only one batter who got what could be called decent wood on the ball.

I also loved that the Mark Buehrle perfect game came from a pitcher who doesn't have much heat to his pitches.

Another little interesting fact...

Humber is the 7th ex-Met player or prospect to throw a no hitter or perfect game, yet the Met franchise is still one of two (the other is the Padres) to not have a no hitter or perfect game to their credit.

And he did it on just 96 pitches. Second smallest number of pitches in a perfect game (David Cone only needed 88 in his 1999 perfect game).

Only one pitcher - Charlie Robertson in 1922 - had fewer wins and starts before retiring all 27 batters since 1900.

This was Humber's 30th start.
