Just as well, since I drive it every day. What do I like:

light, easy to toss about
red
big sunroof
perfect "weekend away for two" boot ... err... trunk
complete fuel miser
nobody uses it to have a stupid argument about on AC

What do I not like:

Free service contract just ran out ( $$ :| :bawl:$$ )
I have to polish and wash it
Diesel keeps going up
Not much else :D

What kind of car is that, a diesel cou-pe?  I like my car, too.  The littlest car in any lot.  Shortest, anyway.

Okay, Jim - I know JohnR has a diesel Mini Cooper. What kind of short car do you own?

We COULD if you let us in on the model (actually, I know it and am mostly kidding in the spirit of the topic :D)

I like your car, too...I only wish MINI offered diesel in the US.  The nearest MINI dealer is 3 miles down the road from me - and the closest car dealer to my home, too.

I just got a Rising Blue Golf R. Gasoline, definitely not a fuel miser but boy, does it ever fly!

A 10 year old five speed Mazda Protege 5.  There are Mini Coopers all over Houston.  And if they are all over Houston, imagine how many there are in California!   I had a '57 Coupe DeVille in the 70's that I bought off of a fellow that ran on natural gas.  Yep, I was the first on my block.  Sold it and bought a Morris Minor coupe and an MM wagon.

I'm picturing John as more of a VW TDi type guy.

No, I didn't even test-drive one. Couldn't see a reason to...

Mini diesel isn't sold here in the U.S.

Except for inconvenient and very expensive service I really like my 2009 Subaru Outback, especially for northern winters (no disrespect to Paul above).  But it irks me to no end that Subaru builds a 60 mpg diesel version here in the U.S. and exports every one of them to Europe (where I'm sure they sell at a very high premium).  Man, I'd love that car.

I like my 2009 Corolla too (reliable, 37 mpg, comfortable, cheap/convenient service) but like nearly all Toyota models, dull as dishwater.

Little point for a bald old fart to own a drop top in Michigan (heck I ended up with a sunroof years ago and rarely used it after the first sunny (rare) winter).

Paul, now I've really got to visit you on my next trip up there.   :thumb:

John,

I love my car too!

It's easy to toss around and drives like it is a lot lighter and smaller (especially after putting 19" wheels and new summer tires)
It's dark red (Vermilion to be exact) - unlike all the other BMW's out there
Moon-roof
Small boot (at least it seems small to me)
For its performance level, good fuel mileage
Haven't seen any arguments about it here on AC
It is incredibly fun to drive!!!

What I don't like:

Expensive
Uses premium gas
Washing and detailing
I love it so much I keep wanting to "make it better"

I love my 2012 'Yellow Blaze' paint Focus.
It gets way better gas mileage than my last car.
